Say no to flags, stadium

Regarding flying rainbow flags on Palatine village hall: In a recent story, a social worker states that "LGBTQ+ youth are watching government stripping away their protections." Like what? Which of the rights in the Bill of Rights are being stripped away?

I say no LGBTQ+ flags in Palatine. Once this is started, the BLM folks will want flags, the MAGA folks will want flags, etc.

Another topic: The Bears stadium in Arlington Heights. I also say no. I remember the state giving tax breaks to the previous owners of Arlington Park to rebuild when it burned down and here we go again. One problem is the infrastructure can't handle the increased traffic. The main roads serving the area from the NW suburbs are Rand Road and Northwest Hwy. In the Palatine and Arlington Heights area, the surface streets have commercial properties and many traffic signals. From the south, I90, I290 and 53 serve the area, but I recall during the Arlington Million, a once-a-year event, the right lanes of 53 at the Euclid exit were at a standstill back to I90.

There have been no improvements to the situation since. Even the 53 North extension has been cancelled.

The argument that Metra already serves the area is true, but consider after the game, say thousands of people will try to get on trains all at once. It would be a logistical nightmare for Metra.

It's going to be a mess. We already pay enough taxes here. Someone will have to pay for infrastructure improvement. I foresee not being able to safely get out of my neighborhood on game day.

Say no to the Bears at Arlington.
