Geneva issues survey for new comprehensive plan
After its recent “Geneva Conversations” kickoff event, the city has launched an online survey to gather public feedback for the Geneva 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
A comprehensive plan sets the community’s long-term vision for the future. The plan addresses key topics such as housing, transportation, economic development, land use, and more.
Once finalized, the plan will serve as a guiding document to help elected officials, city staff, and the community make informed decisions for the next decade and beyond while also preserving the qualities that define Geneva.
Community engagement will be a cornerstone of the planning process. The survey allows residents and stakeholders to share their input on six primary topics, including: housing/neighborhoods; economic vitality; downtown historic district; parks, recreation, and open space; walking and biking; and development opportunities.
Take the survey between now and June 12 via geneva2040.com.
Geneva’s last comprehensive plan update was completed in 2003. The current planning process began in April with the city’s consultant conducting community stakeholder interviews, followed by the “Geneva Conversations” event in May.
The city will continue to offer additional opportunities for public feedback throughout the year.
The city anticipates adopting the new comprehensive plan in early 2027. For more information about the planning process and upcoming events, visit the Geneva 2040 website, geneva2040.com.
