House fire in Carpentersville causes $180,000 in damage
No one was injured during a Thursday afternoon house fire in Carpentersville, officials said.
The Carpentersville Fire Department said in a news release that firefighters responded to the 1700 block of Cambria Lane at about 1 p.m. and found flames coming from a two-story residence.
One elderly female was taken from the home and examined for injuries and signed a release on scene. The two other occupants were able to exit before the fire department arrived.
The fire started on the exterior of the structure and spread into the attic. Companies had the fire under control by 1:25 p.m.
The fire caused an estimated $180,000 in damage, and the cause is still under investigation.
