Two wounded in shooting on Aurora’s west side Friday morning
Two people were hurt in a shooting Friday morning on Aurora’s west side.
Police said they found one injured person, a 25-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound shortly after being called to the 2000 block of West Downer Place just after 9:30 a.m.
The man was transported to a hospital for treatment and was released a short time later.
Police were notified of another male at the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. Police believe he was shot during the same incident. He was treated an released.
Authorities believe the two men know each other and were targeted.
Police said several vehicles were struck by gunfire at the scene of the shooting.
Nearby schools were placed on soft lockdowns out of an abundance of caution, police said.
