Popular retailer UNIQLO opens in Oak Brook

Popular Japanese retailer UNIQLO opened its newest location on Friday at Oakbrook Center.

Known for high-quality, affordable clothing that utilizes innovative fabrics, the opening is the latest in a recent U.S. expansion that includes the debut of its Michigan Avenue Flagship store earlier this spring.

The new location in the northeast sector of the shopping mall will offer the brand’s full lineup of “LifeWear” for men and women, as well as “UTme!,” an in-store print-on-demand service that lets customers create a one-of-a-kind T-shirt or tote bag and take it home the same day. UTme! includes works by Chicago-area artists.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, the first 200 customers in line will receive a free UNIQLO knot bag filled with a custom UNIQLO x GARRETT Popcorn tin and a free treat from Stan’s Donuts. The first 200 customers each day who make an in-store purchase of $99 or more will receive a free tote bag featuring custom artwork by JC Rivera.

The opening weekend will include promotions on staple products Taiko drum performances several times throughout each day.
