Roadwork in Elgin on U.S. 20 to cause lane closures starting May 18

An Illinois Department of Transportation project on U.S. 20 and Shales Parkway/Bluff City Boulevard in Elgin will require intermittent daytime lane closures beginning Monday, May 18, weather permitting.

​The project consists of removing the existing median and constructing a new concrete median with curb and gutters, along with milling and resurfacing from the intersection to approximately 800 feet west.

Work is anticipated to be completed in July.
