Citadel Theatre announces 2026-2027 season
Citadel Theatre on Thursday announced its 2026-2027 season.
Dubbed “the season of choices,” it commences Sept. 9 with “Eureka Day,” Jonathan Spector’s delicious satire skewering affluent progressives confronting a measles outbreak at a private school.
That’s followed by “It’s a Wonderful Life: The Live Radio Play” (Nov. 11-Dec. 13) adapted from director Frank Capra’s 1946 film starring Jimmy Stewart about an ordinary man’s profound impact on those around him.
A revival of “The Glass Menagerie” (Feb. 10-March 14), Tennessee Williams’ 1944 memory play is about a family living lives of quiet disappointment in 1930s St. Louis.
Citadel’s season concludes with “Ordinary Days” (April 14-May 16), a sung-through musical about four people in New York City whose lives converge in remarkable ways.
Performances take place in the West Campus of the Lake Forest School District at 300 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest. Season subscriptions and flex passes are $140; three-show subscriptions are $115; two-show subscriptions are $80. Preview flex passes are $65 for four shows, $55 for three shows and $45 for two shows. They are on sale at citadeltheatre.org.
