Glen Ellyn Historical Society recruits baton twirlers of all ages for Fourth of July parade
The Glen Ellyn Historical Society wants to form a marching unit of baton twirlers to join “seventy-six trombones” or so in a big Independence Day parade.
Glen Ellyn’s Fourth of July Parade will celebrate the nation’s semiquincentennial with the theme “Stars & Stripes Over Glen Ellyn — 250 Years of American Spirit.”
After successfully creating a multigenerational troupe last year, the historical society is again putting out a call for baton twirlers of all ages and skill levels to take part in its parade unit. The twirlers will all receive special historical society T-shirts as their uniform.
To sign up, call (630) 469-1867 or visit the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.
