Dog dies, cat saved in Aurora house fire

A dog died, but a cat was saved during a house fire on Wednesday afternoon in Aurora.

The fire was reported at 1:17 p.m. in the 200 block of Lakeview Drive when the homeowner returned home and discovered smoke inside, according to a news release from the Aurora Fire Department.

The fire was contained to the kitchen of the two-story house. Nobody was injured.

The house is uninhabitable.
