A Geneva favorite is back

The Geneva Wine Cellar & Tasting Room has reopened under new family ownership in the city’s downtown.

Located in the Berry House at 227 S. 3rd St., the previous owner closed the shop in February citing financial reasons. New ownership promises a fully restored and revitalized space that is “reimagined while preserving the charm and community spirit that made it a local favorite for decades.”

The wine bar will offer a rotating menu of 16-plus wines by the glass, as well as interactive wine machines offering 1-ounce, 3-ounce and 5-ounce pours for sampling and exploration. They’ll have two sommeliers on staff as well as a dedicated event planner.

They’ll hold a grand opening celebration that starts with a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, followed by live music throughout the weekend.
