Learn about composting at Des Plaines Public Library

Learn about composting at home on Saturday, May 2, in a free program at the Des Plaines Public Library.

A program called “Backyard Composting” is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the library, 1501 Ellinwood St. It’ll be run by Illinois Extension master gardeners.

They’ll cover how to start and maintain compost bins using food scraps and yard waste.

They’ll also talk about indoor and community composting options.

The program is open to adults. Registration is required and can be accomplished at calendar.dppl.org/event/15639233.
