Suspect still at-large after Thursday night police chase ends in Elmhurst crash

Elmhurst police say a suspect is still at-large after crashing a vehicle during a chase and fleeing on foot Thursday night.

Authorities said officers from a neighboring department pursued a suspected stolen vehicle into Elmhurst at about 8:15 p.m., when the driver crashed the car near Butterfield Road and Commonwealth Lane and fled on foot.

The driver, described as a Black man wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans, was not found after hours of searching by officers using police dogs and drones.

No injuries were reported in the crash.
