Kane County coroner identifies man who died from gunshot wounds in Batavia

The Kane County coroner has identified a man who died Saturday in Batavia as 29-year-old Darioun C. Smith.
Initial autopsy results indicate that Smith died from gunshot wounds, the coroner said Thursday.
Batavia police and the Fox Valley Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the death.
Officers responded around 3:52 a.m. on April 25 to the 1100 block of East Wilson Street. A 27-year-old woman with serious injuries left an apartment. Smith was found inside the apartment.
The man and the woman knew each other, according to police.
