Buffalo Grove Jr. High Robotics Team makes World Championships
A team of nine eighth-grade students called “The Titans” from Aptakisic Junior High School has qualified for the FIRST Lego League World Festival Championship, an achievement that places them among the top youth robotics teams in the world.
These students have been working tirelessly since August designing, building and programming their robot to solve challenges while also developing an innovative solution to a real-world problem that helps archaeologists preserve artifacts in the field. Throughout this time, they also taught over 160 students at their school about building and programming robots, and shared their love for robotics at different community events throughout the year.
Their hard work, teamwork and creativity earned them a top spot at qualifiers, sectionals, the state championship, and now a chance to represent their community on a global stage.
With the competition just around the corner on April 29, they are preparing to compete against teams from around the world while representing Illinois.
