Glen Ellyn seeks artist for new mural
Glen Ellyn’s Public Art Work Group is seeking an artist to create a “digitally designed” mural in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
The mural is described as a historical timeline consisting of seven individual panels to be installed along the Glen Ellyn History Center.
The mural must include visual references to the town’s Fourth of July festivities — always organized by volunteers and capped off by a bang-up fireworks display over Lake Ellyn — and/or the 250th anniversary, according to a call for artists.
The submission deadline is April 28. Materials should be sent to director@downtownglenellyn.com. The village is sponsoring the project.
