St. Charles manufacturer Aerapy advances to Final Four in Illinois’ ‘Coolest Thing Made’ competition
Aerapy, a St. Charles-based advanced manufacturing company focused on energy efficiency and healthier indoor environments, has advanced to the Final Four of the statewide “Makers Madness: The Coolest Thing Made in Illinois” competition, hosted by the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA).
Aerapy was recognized for its technology designed to improve indoor air quality while reducing energy use in manufacturing and commercial facilities, an increasingly important need as organizations balance operational performance, safety, and rising energy demand.
The annual competition celebrates the innovation and impact of manufacturers across Illinois, highlighting products that are driving the future of industry. Aerapy’s selection as a finalist places the company among the top manufacturing innovations in the state.
“This recognition is about more than a single product — it reflects the growing role of manufacturers in solving real-world challenges around energy, safety, and performance inside facilities,” said Annette Uda, president of Aerapy. “We’re proud to represent St. Charles and to be part of a broader manufacturing community that is advancing smarter, more sustainable operations.”
The Makers Madness competition draws a large number of nominations each year, with public voting determining which companies advance through each round.
Reaching the Final Four represents a significant achievement and underscores Aerapy’s leadership in emerging manufacturing solutions.
“Congratulations to Aerapy on advancing to the Final Four of the Coolest Thing Made in Illinois! St. Charles is proud to be cheering you on as you compete for the top honor. As an Illini fan, I know how exciting a Final Four run can be — and we’re all hoping to see Aerapy go even further and make a full run for the Makers Madness championship,” said St. Charles Mayor Clint Hull.
As the competition enters its final stage, Aerapy continues to represent both the city of St. Charles and the strength of Illinois manufacturing on a statewide platform.
