Four people sought for questioning in death of former Barrington High School wrestler

Chicago police are looking to question four people about the death of 25-year-old former Barrington High School wrestler Xander Kazanowski.

Police released a video of the four as they entered the Tune Up Bar at 3810 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a police report said Kazanowski had been forcibly removed after a fight at the bar.

Chicago police said Kazanowski was found unresponsive on the ground with injuries to his head at about 3:19 a.m. March 24 on the 3900 block of West Belmont Avenue. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.

His family said Kazanowski, a Chicago resident and entrepreneur who grew up in South Barrington and was a wrestling standout at Barrington High School, died surrounded by family members March 28.

Cook County authorities said the cause of death was homicide from blunt head trauma due to an assault.

Police describe the four people as a Black man who was wearing a black jacket, black baseball hat and blue jeans; an Asian woman who was wearing a black jacket and white pants; a Black man who was wearing a black jacket, white hooded sweatshirt and black pants; and a Black man who was wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and brown winter hat.
