‘Radium Girls’ brings historic labor fight to Glenbard West stage
Glenbard West Theatre will present its spring drama, “Radium Girls” on April 16-18. The production is based on the true story of the female workers of the U.S. Radium Corp. in the 1920s.
When girls who paint watches with radium fall ill with a mysterious disease, Grace, a dial painter, fights for her day in court vs. the U.S. Radium Corp.
Called “powerful” and “engrossing” by critics, “Radium Girls” offers an unflinching look at the peculiarly American obsession with health, wealth, and the commercialization of science.
“Radium Girls” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, April 16-18, in the auditorium at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. Tickets are $10. Purchase tickets online at tinyurl.com/GlenbardWestTheatre
