Carol Stream Rotary Club collecting donations for food pantries

The Rotary Club of Carol Stream is in the homestretch of a community-wide donation drive benefiting a half dozen food pantries.

Donations will be accepted through April 10 at sites including the park district’s Fountain View Recreation Center, the Carol Stream Public Library and village hall.

People are encouraged to donate nonperishable food such as canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, oatmeal or grits and biscuit mix. Household items such as diapers and laundry detergent are also needed.

On Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., donations will be brought to Glenbard North High School, where items will be sorted and distributed among six area pantries.
