The Adler Arts Center to host free play April 24
In celebration of Lesbian Visibility Week, the Adler Arts Center in Libertyville will be hosting “5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche” at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 24. This play is presented by Violet Surprise Theatre, whose mission is to vibrantly validate the voices of queer women.
“Quiche” is a scintillating satire of women’s roles in the 1950s, enlisting its characters in a caricature of the sexism, heterosexism, consumerism, and Communism exuberant in the era. What better way to celebrate Lesbian Visibility Week than by coming out for this absurdly adorable and unapologetic declaration of lesbi-independence?
This event is free to the public. There will be a post-show talkback and refreshments. The play runs about an hour with no intermission. Parking is available at the Adler Arts Center with backup parking at Adler Park School.
The Adler Arts Center is at 1700 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.
