Knowledge Exchange to host low-cost community book sale

Knowledge Exchange, a Chicagoland-based book redistribution company, will host a Used Book Sale on April 11-12 at Bernie’s Book Bank, offering the community access to more than 5,000 used books at affordable prices.

The sale will include a wide selection of fiction and nonfiction books, all priced between $2 and $3. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

As part of Knowledge Exchange’s continued collaboration with Bernie’s Book Bank, children’s books typically available at the sale have been donated to Bernie’s prior to the event. In addition, a portion of all proceeds from the sale will be donated to the organization to support its mission of improving childhood literacy outcomes.

Knowledge Exchange works with libraries and organizations throughout Illinois to collect surplus and discarded books, redistributing them to new readers and keeping usable materials out of landfills.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at Bernie’s Book Bank, 917 N. Shore Drive, Lake Bluff.
