Schaumburg resident, Motorola Solutions senior manager appointed to District 54 board
The Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 school board has appointed Schaumburg resident Sri Rajaram to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of longest-ever member Barbara Hengels.
Rajaram will hold the seat until the April 2027 election, at which time she can run for the post.
The mother of a District 54 student and another in high school, Rajaram volunteers for their schools’ PTAs and serves on the executive board of the District 54 Education Foundation.
“I look forward to working with every board member here and the district superintendent, Mr. DuRoss, ensuring that every student feels they belong here unconditionally and they are able to achieve their fullest potential,” she said in a statement.
Rajaram has worked for Motorola Solutions for more than 16 years, currently serving as senior manager of security governance. She has a master’s degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in information technology.
Hengels stepped down Jan. 7 after 28½ years on the board. She was first appointed to an interim term on June 4, 1997, before going on to be elected eight times.
