Local photographer earns top honors at Chicago area competition
Local resident Mike Baker was recognized for his recent photographic successes and awarded a medal for Image of the Month by the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association.
His photo “Launch to the Next Outpost” was entered in CACCA Individual Creative Contest where it received Best of Show for November 2025.
Additionally, his image was judged to be the second best photo of all entries submitted this past year. Baker's image was recognized for its originality, creativity, and strong visual impact.
Baker belongs to Photogenesis Camera Club of Naperville which is a member of the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association.
Nearly 35 clubs throughout Chicago and suburbs belong to the association which runs monthly competitions for its thousands of members.
Baker said, “It’s an honor to have “Launch to the Next Outpost” recognized across CACCA’s community of talented photographers. The image reflects my approach to elevating everyday architecture — transforming a familiar space into something imaginative and unexpected. To be selected as Image of the Month/Best of Show and then awarded second place overall at CACCA’s year-end competition is deeply meaningful.”
