Fire damages Huntley building, but contained from spreading
Huntley firefighters worked quickly Saturday to stop flames from a burning outbuilding on a residential lot from spreading to two nearby structures, officials reported.
According to Huntley Fire Protection District officials, firefighters responded to the 6400 block of Suttondale Road at 1:05 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found a small outbuilding fully engulfed in fire and just six feet from two additional buildings.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the original building, with only minor exterior damage caused to the other two structures, officials said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire district and McHenry County sheriff’s office.
