Shred your documents in Des Plaines on Saturday

Des Plaines residents can securely dispose of sensitive papers through a city shredding event Saturday.

Residents can bring papers to the public works facility, 1111 Joseph J. Schwab Road, between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. for destruction. Proof of residency may be required.

Only paper products will be accepted, and each car is limited to two boxes of documents. Binders, binder clips and rubber bands should be removed, but staples and paper clips are OK.

This is a first come, first served event. When the shredding truck is full, no more documents will be accepted.
