Buffalo Grove earns recognition among Niche’s Best Places

Buffalo Grove has gained national recognition among the premier places to live. The village received high marks in the newly released Niche 2026 “Best Places to Live” rankings.

According to Niche’s latest rankings, Buffalo Grove was ranked the best place to live in Lake County, fourth best place to live in Illinois, No. 31 suburb in America and sixth best public schools in Illinois.

Niche ranks cities, suburbs and neighborhoods by blending public data, proprietary research and resident reviews. It examines such factors as cost of living, crime, schools, jobs and amenities.

“This recognition is a testament to the values that define Buffalo Grove,” Village President Eric Smith said. “From top-tier schools and safe neighborhoods to a strong sense of community, BG continues to be a place where people choose to live, work, learn, and raise their families. I’m beyond proud to see our community once again recognized at both the state and national level.”
