Aurora man charged with possession of child sex abuse materials

An Aurora man is facing felony charges of possession of child sexual abuse materials following an investigation that began in January.

Michael Orozco, 25, of the 400 block of S. Union St., is charged with possession of child sexual abuse materials-victim under 13, possession of chid sexual abuse materials-victim under 18, indecent solicitation of a child and grooming.

Aurora police began investigating Orozco in January when detectives interviewed him about talking to someone online Orozco believed was 13. During that interview, Orozco discussed having the 13-year-old engage in a sex act, police said.

Detectives also determined Orozco may be in possession of child sexual abuse materials at that time, so they seized his electronic devices. An examination of those devices ultimately uncovered images of child sexual abuse, police said.

He was arrested March 4. He remains jailed in Kane County. His next court date is April 10.
