Fire to commercial van in Lombard driveway damages two homes, causes $60K in damage

A commercial contractor van caught fire Friday in the driveway of a home in Lombard, causing more than $60,000 in damage.

According to a news release, Lombard firefighters responded just after noon on March 13 to a home on the 1400 block of Oak Meadow Court. They found a van on fire, with flames spreading to the nearby home and the house next door.

No one was injured, and firefighters were able to contain the blaze, limiting damage to the exterior of the homes and van.

Both houses remain habitable, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
