Wheeling Walmart store evacuated after bogus bomb threat
A Walmart store at 1455 Lake-Cook Road in Wheeling was temporarily evacuated Monday night after police in a neighboring town received a bomb threat that turned out to be false.
Customers and workers were directed to leave the store about 7:30 p.m. Police and police dogs searched the store and found no explosives.
People were allowed back into the store about 9:30 p.m.
The threat remained under investigation Tuesday.
