Amid finger pointing, hazard persists

Between Cimarron Way and Army Trail Road in Addison, there is not a completed sidewalk. Thus, many adults and children walk, ride bikes and push strollers in the driving lanes or middle of a undivided section. This section allows hazardous situations for both drivers and pedestrians.

The danger is compounded at night because streetlights are inadequate. For over 20 years, I have attempted to alert government agencies about this hazard. The village says it is a county responsibility; the county says it is a township responsibility; the township says it is a village responsibility.

Thus, the circle of finger pointing goes on an on while the hazard persists on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly status. The sun sets and more darkness comes in the view. I hope this letter encourages positive results to place a complete sidewalk along this hazard.
