Oak Brook Park District donation drive benefits Hope’s Front Door

The Oak Brook Park District is proud to share the success of its recent community donation drive benefiting Hope’s Front Door.

Throughout January and February, the park district collected toiletries and infant care items to support local families in need.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Oak Brook community, a wide range of essential items were donated, including diapers, wipes, and personal care products.

These contributions will directly support families served by Hope’s Front Door, helping ensure access to everyday necessities that can ease financial strain and provide stability.

“Many of Hope’s Front Door’s clients have limited income and resources. As a result, it restricts their options, leaving them caught between being able to heat their homes, pay rent, eat, put gas in the car or consistently be clean,” said Kathy Nazzarini, program director at Hope’s Front Door. “This includes being unable to afford personal hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash and deodorant or diapers.

“Currently, Hope’s Front Door provides toiletry items to approximately 275-300 households per month. These are items adults and children need to succeed at school, work or virtually anyplace,” Nazzarini said. “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the community in donating these items so that we can continue to assist Hope’s Front Door families and their children to help ensure better overall health and well-being.”

The donation drive served as a meaningful way to highlight the positive impact of collective giving and community partnership.

By working together, residents demonstrated that acts of kindness can create a significant difference in the lives of local families.

The Oak Brook Park District extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the drive and helped make this effort a success.
