D214 Community Education presents the Galway Gals in St. Patrick’s Day concert

Celebrate the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day with an afternoon of lively Irish music as District 214 Community Education presents the Galway Gals in concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, at the Forest View Educational Center.

The Galway Gals — Liz McNichols and Anna Gillan — bring a vibrant and engaging sound to the stage, blending traditional Irish folk songs with modern Irish favorites. In a Celtic music scene traditionally dominated by men, the duo offers a refreshing take on the genre with dynamic musicianship and rich vocal harmonies.

Classically trained musicians, McNichols and Gillan perform on guitar and fiddle, joined by a percussionist to create a full, energetic sound. Their performance features beloved Irish standards alongside contemporary favorites, offering something for both longtime fans of Celtic music and new listeners alike.

Audiences can expect to hear timeless songs such as “Danny Boy,” “The Irish Rover,” “Galway Girl” and “Fields of Athenry,” along with lively jigs and reels and selections made popular by Irish artists including The Cranberries, U2, Van Morrison and The Corrs.

Tickets are $20 each, with discounts available for Gold Card members. Seating is general admission.

Whether you’re proudly Irish or simply Irish-at-heart, this festive concert offers a fun and memorable way to celebrate the season.
