Anderson Brothers Jazz Trio play ‘The Songbook of George Gershwin’

On Sunday, March 15, woodwind virtuosos and identical twins Peter and Will Anderson will present a selected program of classic American melodies in “The Songbook of George Gershwin” from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Road in Naperville.

Tickets are $22 for age 13 or older. Proceeds benefit Feed My Starving Children.

They are fresh off recent performances at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and Birdland. The Andersons live and breathe the music of the 1930s and ’40s – reviving tunes of the past with an energy and authenticity seldom heard today. Their program of music from the golden age includes such vintage gems as “Rhapsody in Blue,” the swing classic “Sing, Sing, Sing,” and Broadway classic “My Favorite Things.” Graduates of the Juilliard School, the Andersons have performed on “Prairie Home Companion” and on HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” soundtrack.
