How ICE presence hurts elections
I would like to respond to Dave Weeks’ question “How does ICE hurt elections?”
A large number of legal citizens of Hispanic ethnicity are terrified of ICE because of the many instances where ICE detained citizens purely because they were not white.
This fear will keep these citizens from voting if there are ICE agents at the polling places. What is to prevent the agents from detaining citizens on the suspicion that they are illegal thus preventing them from voting? This would be a very serious manipulation of the vote.
