Hanover Township Open Gym returning for spring break

With warm weather around the corner, Hanover Township is looking ahead to its Spring Break Open Gym.

From noon to 4 p.m. March 30 to April 3, youth ages 5 -14 are invited to participate in a wide variety of free recreational, educational and social activities at the township’s Izaak Walton Youth Center, 899 Jay Street in Elgin, and School District U-46 gyms.

Spring Break Open Gym will be held at the Youth Center each day, in addition to: Monday, March 30 at Ontarioville Elementary School, 2100 Elm Ave. in Hanover Park; Tuesday, March 31 at Sunnydale Elementary School, 716 Sunnydale Blvd. in Streamwood; Wednesday, April 1 at Oakhill Elementary School, 502 Oltendorf Road in Streamwood; and Thursday, April 2 at Laurel Hill Elementary School, 1750 Laurel Avenue in Hanover Park.

Sports, games, arts and crafts will be conducted at all Open Gym sites.

Open Gym continues to be a free program designed to give youth a safe, fun and positive place to go.
