Four Route 53 ramps at Palatine Road closed until late summer

The village of Arlington Heights was notified late last week that the four cloverleaf ramps at the Route 53-Palatine Road interchange would be closed from Friday until late summer.

These are eastbound Palatine Road to northbound Route 53, westbound Palatine Road to southbound Route 53, southbound Route 53 to eastbound Palatine Road and northbound Route 53 to westbound Palatine Road.

And starting Monday, Palatine Road underneath Route 53 will be reduced to one-lane in both directions until about Aug. 1.

The closures and lane reductions are part of an Illinois Department of Transportation improvement project for Route 53.
