The Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble, from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, is a select treble ensemble for students who wish to develop advanced choral skills and a better understanding of various styles of choral music composed for sopranos and altos. The ensemble’s chosen repertoire — from folk to contemporary, ancient to modern — focuses on moving forward and upward, overcoming challenges and celebrating compassion.

The ensemble performs on campus and at community events. It is named after Jenny Lind (1820-87), a Swedish opera singer known as the “Swedish Nightingale,” who was considered the finest high performance “coloratura” voice of her day.

Bel Canto, the varsity treble ensemble, is the premier treble choir at Harry D. Jacobs High School. This auditioned ensemble is comprised of 25 dedicated vocalists in grades 10-12 who are committed to excellence in choral artistry. Bel Canto specializes in primarily legitimate choral repertoire, exploring advanced treble literature that challenges singers both musically and vocally.

Bella Voce is Dundee Middle School’s select seventh- and eighth-grade treble ensemble. Students earn placement through audition and demonstrate strong musicianship, vocal technique, and commitment to artistic excellence. It serves as a musical leadership ensemble within the choral program. They cultivate teamwork, camaraderie, artistry, and a shared love for the joy of making music together.
