Marmion, Rosary students brave icy plunge for Special Olympics

About 60 students and faculty from Marmion Academy and Rosary High School took part in a Polar Plunge fundraiser on Thursday, March 5, to support Special Olympics Illinois.

The plunge is organized by Marmion junior Jameson Brave who is leading the effort for the second year. Students, faculty, and staff jump into a pool of icy water set up in Marmion’s Quad after raising donations to support athletes with intellectual disabilities.

To participate, students commit to raising $100 minimum to participate. The winning class gets recognition and a Civies Day where they can dress down. As part of the Cool School Challenge, the top school statewide gets a trophy and pizza party.
