Q&A
Why are you running for this office? Is there a particular issue that motivates you?
The budget, transportation, property taxes.
If you are an incumbent, describe a few important initiatives you’ve led. If you’re not an incumbent, describe a few ways you would contribute to the board.
N/A
Is there a specific service or amenity that is lacking in the county? If so, how do you propose to provide and fund it?
I think the services provided are adequate.
With the county's budget being squeezed by federal funding cuts and other factors, what initiatives would you support to increase revenue and/or save money?
I would not support a property tax increase. The county needs to look at where the biggest cost drivers are and reduce from there.
What is the single most important issue facing your district, and how should the county address it?
The budget. The county needs to stop spending reserves to balance the budget. The county needs to look at reducing costs. I think everything should be on the table for reduction.
Why are you the best person to serve in this role?
I have 16 years in government having been village president of Hampshire. I have a 30 voting record as a Republican. I have live in Kane County for 30 years and have been involved in the community for the last 25 years.
Having served as the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce president. Helped form what is now know as Northwest Little League in Hampshire/ Pingree Grove.
