Misplaced priorities

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding current federal spending priorities. It has been reported that significant funds are being allocated toward high-cost government travel, including a $75 million jet for Kristi Noem and Kash Patel’s use of a government jet for travel to the Olympics in Italy.

At the same time, I am troubled to learn that Congress is moving to cut funding for free school lunch programs. For many children in our community and across the country, the meal they receive at school is the only one they will have all day. I believe it is essential to prioritize the basic nutritional needs of our students over luxury government expenditures.

I urge you to consider the impact these cuts will have on vulnerable children and to advocate for the continued support of universal school meal programs.
