Letters wrong about students, columnist

I am compelled to respond to two recent letters criticizing high school students for protesting ICE and then going on to slam Susan Estrich.

The one takes issue with the Daily Herald's portrayal of the Luhman brothers and their courageous coverage of Trump's Gestapo goons in Minneapolis. The writer then goes on to say that Susan Estrich's column is “full of lies,” blithely ignoring the consummate liar-in-chief Donald Trump.

The other praises ICE's actions in Minneapolis and the killing of two U.S. citizens, parroting DHS's totally inaccurate descriptions of the encounters. The writer then chastises the Daily Herald for running Susan Estrich's column.

Susan Estrich is incisive, perceptive, factual and compelling. She accurately reveals Trump and his MAGA flunkies for what they are: An existential threat to the Republic.

Kudos, again, to the Daily Herald for printing Estrich's column. It is a refreshing counterpoint to the MAGA-inspired tripe of Byron York and Michael Barone.
