Two ice fishermen rescued in Port Barrington

Two ice fishermen were rescued about 50 feet from shore Wednesday afternoon in Port Barrington.

Wauconda Fire District personnel responding to the 400 block of Riverside Lane about 1:45 p.m. rescued two adult males who were on a channel of the Fox River, authorities said.

Both were taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington for cold exposure symptoms. Both were conscious and alert when loaded into the ambulance, authorities said.

Lake Zurich firefighters assisted and the Nunda Rural Fire Protection District manned the Wauconda station.
