Do you support the unilateral foreign policy course President Trump has taken with such actions as the bombing of Iran, assaults on Venezuelan ships and the seizure of the Venezuelan president?
Absolutely not. This is the behavior of a bully and someone who feels unshackled. The country needs to be using its soft power, not hard power. We are committing war crimes on the high seas.
The executive branch has expanded its powers in recent years on foreign policy, economic tariffs, executive orders and more. Are you satisfied with the direction these activities are moving? If so, why? If not, what needs to be done differently?
No. Congress is the first branch of government listed in the Constitution. Congress is going to have be the worst micromanaging boss is history. Oversight isn't just a committee, it needs to be carried out in the field and making sure the executive branch cannot violate its oath.
What should U.S. border policy be? If elected, what would you do to make it happen?
We need 3x the number of immigration judges to move people through our system more efficiently. People exist in gray areas of the law, and the sooner they are completely through the process the more effective it will be. Yes, we need to control the border, but everyone here should have a chance to legalize themselves.
What should be the government’s role in assuring health care for Americans? What should be done regarding the ACA to better perform this function?
It should be a utility. The ACA should be transformed into Single payer for all Americans.
What is your vision for a solution to conflicts involving Israel and the Palestinians? What should the United States be doing to advance this position?
The United States should apply maximum pressure to Israel. Palestinians should determine themselves what they want their future to be and the outlines of their democracy. Israel has become the bully here. If Israel truly wants peace, a thriving Palestinian Democracy next door is vital to that.
