Candidate will fight for democratic values
My wife and I have called Kane County our home for nearly 47 years. We have lived in the Tri-cities the entire time. We count our blessings that we have found a welcoming community of like-minded friends who believe in the worth and dignity of every human being, are empathetic, moral, believe in the rule-of-law and will stand up to the lawless current authoritarian administration.
Unfortunately, this bad behavior is alive and well in Kane County in the form of far-right extremist groups. Those supporters of the current administration use every known dirty trick in the book to try to gain a foothold of power in our county. In the past, I have supported my current 11th District representative to the Kane County Board, but no longer. I have become disillusioned with her voting record and her lack of public pushback when far-right board members spread lies and hate against constituents, Democrats, immigrants and the LGBTQ community.
Instead of being disillusioned, I am energized after meeting Julie Forbes, of Geneva, candidate for the Kane County Board District 11 seat, in the Democratic Primary. Julie will fight hard for our democratic values and will be “A Voice For All.” Julie describes herself as a consistent, reliable leader and problem solver grounded in farming and conservation work. In getting to know Julie, I believe her background in managing large budgets and projects, strategic planning and working with diverse groups is the right skill set for the KCB. She is driven by integrity and is deeply committed to public service.
Join me in casting our vote for Julie Forbes, Kane County Board District 11. Early voting has started with expanded in-person voting on March 17th.
