Hanover Township to host free heart health screenings Feb. 28
In honor of American Heart Month, Hanover Township will host free blood pressure screenings, stroke risk assessments and body composition analyses from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 28, at its Senior Center, 240 S. IL Route 59 in Bartlett.
Registration is not required. Heart health screenings are co-sponsored by state Sen. Cristina Castro and Ascension Illinois.
“Heart disease remains the leading cause of death and disability in the United States,” said Kristen Smith, Hanover Township director of community health. “Even if you don’t have a family history of heart disease, we still encourage you to get screened.”
Attendees will also receive information and have the opportunity to talk with nurses about diet and nutritional education.
