Sheriff: Pedestrian hit by car near Downers Grove, critically injured

A pedestrian was critically hurt after being hit by a vehicle in an unincorporated area of Downers Grove, authorities said.

Just after 11 a.m. Thursday, the DuPage County sheriff's office responded to the collision near College and Walnut avenues.

The pedestrian was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating, and the crash remains under investigation. Anyone who was a witness and/or has any information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (630) 407-2400.
