A loss of identity
A Feb 13 Daily Herald story describes a 270-year-old tree being converted to conference tables while the fertile land where the tree has been thriving is “developed” into something that will not likely thrive for 25 years, much less 270 years. Wauconda is another community sacrificing its irretrievable rural heritage to become just another anonymous generic suburb, indistinguishable from each other as you pass through them, for the sake of yet another revenue deal.
