Batavia chiropractor now accused of sharing videos of undressed child patients
A chiropractor accused of secretly videotaping his undressed child patients is now charged with sharing those videos as child sex abuse materials, according to Kane County prosecutors.
A grand jury indicted Dr. David Hanson, 43, of Batavia, this week on 76 charges.
Sixteen of the counts allege he shared videos of his young patients.
Hanson faces 19 counts of creating child sexual abuse material, 24 counts of disseminating child sexual abuse material, one count of reproducing child sexual abuse material, 22 counts of possessing child sexual abuse material, and 10 counts of unauthorized video recording.
Child sexual abuse material was formerly called child pornography.
Hanson was arrested Nov. 6, 2025.
The charges accuse Hanson of recording patients as they were undressed, many times in a red-light therapy room of Hanson Family Chiropractic, located in Batavia. He is also accused of recording adult patients.
The state’s attorney’s office believed at least 180 patients were recorded.
Hanson is being held in jail while awaiting trial. His next court date is March 12.
He is also being sued by several patients. The lawsuits allege cameras were hidden in room fans and air vents.
Investigators are still identifying and contacting potential victims. The state’s attorney’s office has a hotline at (630) 444-3322 and accepts emails at SAOVictimHotline@kanecountyil.gov.
