Aurora police report 2 shootings, one with injuries, on Monday
Aurora police are investigating two separate shootings that happened Monday night.
In one, a juvenile was critically wounded.
Authorities don’t believe the shootings are related or pose a threat to the community, according to a news release.
The first was at 6:06 p.m. on the 1100 block of Bonner Avenue. A house was hit by shots. The residents were not injured.
Around 9:10 p.m., shots were reported on Douglas Avenue near Melrose Avenue.
People in a red sedan became involved in an encounter with a dark-colored sport utility vehicle. The SUV pulled alongside, and multiple gunshots were fired. The sedan driver also fired a gun.
Two juvenile passengers in the sedan were injured and driven to a hospital. One of them was then flown to another hospital and was in critical but stable condition, according to police. The news release did not give the ages or genders of the victims.
