36 downtown Geneva businesses participating in 2nd annual Lucky Charms promotion
Get ready for a month-long celebration of shopping local and winning big. From Feb. 13 through March 23, 2026, more than 35 participating downtown Geneva merchants will take part in the Lucky Charms promotion, a creative and engaging way to support local businesses while collecting gold coins for a chance to win exciting prizes.
The promotion is organized by Kristen Cornelio, owner of Kristen Holly, LLC, and was designed to drive foot traffic into local businesses while giving customers an incentive to shop, dine, and explore Geneva.
The idea was first inspired through conversations Kristen had with her adoptive father, Michael Sommerfeld, as they discussed ways to support small businesses during a slower retail season. At the time, her father was undergoing chemotherapy treatments, and brainstorming this positive community initiative became a meaningful bright spot during a difficult season.
This marks the second year of the Lucky Charms promotion. In honor of her father, who sadly lost his battle to cancer last August — just two days before his 70th birthday — Kristen is introducing a special charitable component.
Participants who make a minimum donation of $5 to Northwestern Medicine LivingWell Cancer Resources in Geneva at a designated turn-in location will receive a bonus gold coin. Guests simply show confirmation of their donation on their phone to the participating merchant to receive the additional coin.
How it works
• Visit participating retail shops, restaurants, and service providers and make a purchase.
• Collect gold coins with each visit.
• Every 3 gold coins = 1 raffle ticket for the grand prize drawing.
• Drop coins at designated Treasure Chest locations for weekly instant-win prizes and entry into the grand prize raffle.
At the conclusion of the promotion, three lucky winners will be drawn to receive grand prize gift baskets valued between $250 and $1,500.
Thanks to generous donations from participating businesses, prizes include:
• A pair of Ed Sheeran concert tickets for his June 27 concert at Soldier Field
• A pair of diamond star earrings from State Street Jewelers
• Gift cards and merchandise from numerous downtown Geneva merchants
The more gold coins collected, the more chances participants have to win.
